Great Things To Do For And With Mom
On Mother's Day.

Presents are nice (really, they are), but here are some great idea to treat
your mom and to make sure you’re treated as specially as you deserve
this Mother’s Day.

Take her out for a nice brunch—and behave yourself like a real grownup while you’re there.
Find out what your mom liked to do when she was a kid (bowling? skating? swimming?) and take her to enjoy it again.
Use props. Stuffed animals or toys can set the mood and keep the kids happy. Look for a simple, unadorned item in a color that will compliment rather than distract.
Give her some “make-it-yourself” gift certificates that you create. Include special gifts like “30 minutes of peace and quiet,” “a hug and a kiss,” and “kitchen clean-up.”
Plant a bush or tree together that will be your special greenery.

Take her to a spa and spend the day getting rubbed and scrubbed together.
Hire someone to come clean her house and take her out to lunch while it’s being done.
Make donation in her name to her favorite charity.
Accompany her to visit a friend or family member that she doesn’t often get to see.
Go with her (and any other family members she chooses) to have a family portrait taken.

Take her dancing (you remember dancing, right? It’s what you did at your wedding.).
Repair the stuck drawer, paint the peeling porch, hang the shelves, or do some other task around the house that will make her happy.
Buy her some lovely bubble bath and then run the bath, light some candles, put on some nice music, and make sure the kids leave her alone for a half-hour!
Take the kids to the park, the playground, or on a playdate and let mom have a whole afternoon to herself.
Write her a love letter that tells her exactly how much you appreciate and honor her. It’ll make her cry—and that’s a good thing!
